Urban Planning Professor Murray is keynote speaker at symposium “Cities and Inequalities in a Transnational World”

Professor of Urban Planning Martin Murray gave the keynote address at "Cities and Inequalities in a Transnational World" on March 2, 2012 at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His lecture, entitled, "New City-Building in Urban Africa: Implanting World-Class City Spaces or Creating New Forms of Spatial Inequality?" explores aspects of the unfolding processes of urbanization and transnationalism that might prove similar or different from the past and across regions.

This symposium was part of a series, "Joint Area Centers Symposium," sponsored by the Center Global Studies, a research arm of UI. Other symposiums in the series include "Criminal Trafficking and Slavery: The Dark Side of Global and Regional Migration" and "A New Green Revolution? Meeting Global Food and Energy Demands."
