Assistant Professor Clutter awarded Graham Foundation grant

Assistant Professor McLain Clutter was awarded a Graham Foundation grant for his research titled "Imaginary Apparatus: Film Production and Urban Planning in New York City, 1966-1975." His research traces the intersection of two areas of innovation during John Lindsay's mayoral tenure in New York (1966–73): his policies regarding film production and urban planning policy. This project traces the complex interrelationships between these policies, speculating on their effects on the contemporary city and urban subject. Founded in 1956, the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts makes project-based grants to individuals and organizations and produces public programs to foster the development and exchange of diverse and challenging ideas about architecture and its role in the arts, culture, and society.
